EVENT TITLE: PLANADES AND UP SURP PARTICIPATED IN 11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (ICSD) FROM SEPTEMBER 18 TO 20, 2023, AT ALFRED LEARNER HALL, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK, USA.

PLANADES and UP SURP made a successful joint participation in the 11th Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD), which took place from September 18 to 20, 2023, at Alfred Learner Hall, Columbia University, New York, USA. The theme for this year's event centered on "The Midpoint of the SDGs: Global and Local Progress & Challenges." Notably, ICSD 2023 was conducted in a Hybrid Mode, combining both in-person and virtual elements.

Dr. Engr. Tabassam Raza, Executive Director of PLANADES and Professor Lecturer II at UP SURP, Dr. Dina C. Magnaye, Dean and Associate Professor at UP SURP, and Enp. Carmelita R.E.U. Liwag, College Secretary and Assistant Professor at UP SURP, all served as members of the Scientific Committee for the Parallel Session titled "2B: Linking the SDGs, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation and mitigation in sustainable land use and development planning."Additionally, the conference was attended by SPRING Students, with screenshots below capturing the presentations of the speakers during the session "2B: Linking the SDGs, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation and mitigation in sustainable land use and development planning."

Dr. Engr. Tabassam Raza, who holds the position of Executive Director at PLANADES, and Enp. Carmelita R.E.U. Liwag, serving as College Secretary and Assistant Professor at UP SURP, were also in attendance at the High-Level Plenary session conducted on September 20, 2023, hosted at Alfred Learner Hall, Columbia University, New York, USA.

 This session encompassed a Keynote Address presented by President Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, followed by a Panel discussion that delved into the "Pathway to achieve the SDGs." The discussion encompassed critical aspects such as how to generate political will, establish links between commitments and vital financing, and implement monitoring mechanisms to enhance progress and optimize outcomes

The panel titled "Pathway to Attaining the SDGs" featured Abdoulaye Bio Tchane on the podium. Seated from right to left were Shirin Malepour, with the panel discussion being moderated by Guillaume Lafotun. Additional participants included Lamia Kamal-Chaoui and Obid Khakimov.

At the High-Level Plenary, Dr. Engr. Tabassam Raza was situated on the left, and Enp. Carmelita R.E.U. Liwag was positioned on the right. Within the mosaic photo, they are located at the far right, while at the center is Ms. Shirin Malepour, an Associate Professor at Monash University.
