EVENT TITLE: PLANADES PARTICIPATES IN THE 2024 ASIA-PACIFIC MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION (APMCDRR) MEMBERS BRIEFING

Manila, Philippines, (October 07, 2024) - The Planning and Development Research Foundation, Inc., represented by its Executive Director Dr. Tabassam Raza, attended the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) held last 3 October 2024 via Zoom. The event served as a precursor to the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) which will be conducted on 14-18 October 2024 in Manila, Philippines. The Conference was organized by the Global Network for Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR).

APMCDRR serves as the primary platform for enhancing cooperation, reviewing, and monitoring the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 across regions.  Under the theme “Surge to 2030: Enhancing ambition in Asia-Pacific to accelerate disaster risk reduction,” the conference convened a diverse array of stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to share innovative solutions and accelerate efforts in disaster risk reduction.

The members briefing conference agenda included key presentations and interactive sessions to facilitate participant engagement. Members were able to share their experiences, insights, and efforts relating to the APMCDRR theme. Key Events and speaker lineup for the upcoming APMCDRR 2024 CSO Stakeholder Consultation to be held on 14 October 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center were also discussed in the conference to provide the next steps after the conference.
