EVENT TITLE: PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT PROF. KAZUO YAMAMOTO, AND DR. INDRAJIT PAL, CHAIR OF DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, MITIGATION AND MANAGEMENT, ASIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (AIT), THAILAND

The delegates from PLANADES and UP-SURP had a very constructive meeting with President Prof. Yamamoto, Dr. Pal, and other representatives from the President and Institutional Linkages Office on 07 December 2023 at the AIT President’s Office. During the partnership proposal meeting, there was suggestion to have a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among UP-SURP, AIT, and PLANADES. However, Dr. Engr. Tabassam Raza suggested that it will be more practical to initiate MOU with PLANADES as AIT and PLANADES have upcoming joint ventures. Further, the tripartite MOU can be in process while having MOU with PLANADES and AIT. It was emphasized that PLANADES and Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation and Management of AIT are already having joint activities from the last three years and a Five-Year Action Plan is already in place. Thus, it will entail very short process.

President Prof. Yamamoto agreed with the suggestion and announced his willingness to already enter in the MOU with PLANADES. He informed his group to prepare the necessary documents to be signed to formally enter MOU between PLANADES and AIT.
