EVENT TITLE: PLANADES conducts the Intensive Course in Environmental Planning 2023

As part of its mission to assist planning professionals and planning offices, PLANADES conducted the Intensive Course in Environmental Planning from May 29 to June 2, 2023 at the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning, Cariño Multi-Purpose Hall.

 The training program served as a comprehensive course on basic concepts, processes, and methodologies on urban and regional planning. It was also designed to highlight relevant trends of the profession in order to enhance capabilities of those involved in planning-related activities including but not limited to national agencies, local government units, and individual professionals. The program was well attended by 60 participants, where the majority was from various government offices.

The intensive 5-day training covered topics such as the history and foundations of planning, sectoral planning, project planning, and much more. PLANADES ensured the quality of the program through its reliable and responsive Secretariat as well as its powerhouse of Resource Persons. We thank the following Resource Persons for sharing their time and expertise --- Dr. Ronnie Encarnacion, Dr. Krishna V. Buenaventura, EnP. Lirio Abuyan, Prof. Ernesto Serote, Prof. Carmeli Chaves, EnP. Maria Veronica Arreza-Arcilla, EnP. Jonathan Maldupana, Dr. Jose Regunay, Dr. Maria Sheilah Napalang, Dr. Crispin Emmanuel Diaz, Atty. Apolonio Anota, Dr. Gabriel Ma. J. Lopez, Dr. Tabassam Raza, and Dr. Mark Anthony Morales. EnP. Kristine Follosco-Aspiras, current Vice President of PLANADES, served as ICEP’s course and training director.

Icebreaker activities were conducted to maintain the lively atmosphere during the training lectures.

Participants were given opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other through group activities.
