EVENT TITLE: Planning and Development Research Foundation, Inc (PLANADES) recognized as one of the outstanding presenters of the first ever Academic Output Exhibit showcasing exceptional research and academic works in Environment and Natural Resource Planning
October 27, 2025, Dr. Tabassam Raza, Executive Director, PLANADES, was recognized by the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning as one of the outstanding presenters of its first ever Academic Output Exhibit.
Dr. Raza’s research, titled “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Sustainable Transportation Policies in Mitigating Climate Change in Metro Manila, Philippines: The Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP),” examines the impact of government-led transportation reforms on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable urban mobility. His study evaluates the effectiveness of the PUVMP through both quantitative and qualitative analyses, focusing on its environmental benefits, implementation challenges, and policy implications. The findings provide valuable insights into how modernization initiatives can support climate resilience and sustainable development in rapidly urbanizing regions.
