The International Seminar on Climate Change Implication on Migration organized by Planning Development and Research Foundation, Inc. (PLANADES) is planned to delve into the implications of climate change on migration and explore how the US real estate management sector can create livelihood opportunities for affected populations.
Additionally, the seminar will cover various climate change-related impacts on communities, including changes in weather patterns, drought, illnesses, and health stresses, as well as discuss disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in urban and rural planning processes. The international seminar will be conducted in a hybrid format, and will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, paper presentations, and interactive sessions. Read More

We are now accepting abstracts for oral or poster presentations for organized sessions and exhibits relevant to the International Seminar on Climate Change Implication on Migration (IS-CCIM) sub-themes. The core of the event will cover an important aspect of climate change migration, disaster risk reduction, reduction, as well as the role of urban and rural planning in mitigating climate-induced challenges. Proclamation No.368 s. 2023 by the Office of the President, declared April 9, 2024 a regular holiday in celebration of the “Araw ng Kagitingan”. Furthermore, Proclamation No. 514 s. 2024 confirmed April 10, 2024 as regular holiday as well. This is to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid'l Fitr to the facade of national consciousness, and to allow the entire Filipino nation to join Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eid'l Fitr.

CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING AND LOCAL CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION PLAN UNDER RESEARCH PROJECT: ARE CITY CLIMATE PLANS ADEQUATE FOR MITIGATING WEATHER EXTREMES? AN INVESTIGATION OF SOUTHEAST ASIAN CITIES

PLANADES is organizing a Capacity Building Training (CBT) under the research project with Curtin University entitled, “Are City Climate Plans Adequate for Mitigating Weather Extremes? An Investigation of Southeast Asian Cities”. The CBT will be carried out to enhance government officials’ knowledge regarding the incorporation of ecosystem-based solutions into city’s climate adaptation plans. The said CBT will be held on 20 February 2024 at the Barangay and Communication Relation Department (BCRD), 3rd Floor, BCRD Conference Room, Community Center, Quezon City Hall Compound, Quezon City. The workshop will be in a face-to-face format, and around 50 attendees will join the mentioned activity, primarily from various departments of the Quezon City Government

PLANADES is pleased to announce that the first installment of webinar series 2024 entitled, “Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and Local Planning: Building Livable Communities” will be held on 01 February 2024 from 8:30am- 5:30PM via Zoom platform. The TOD Webinar is also an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) with 6.0 CPD points for Environmental Planners. Speakers for the said Webinar are Dr. Mark Anthony Morales, Prof. Ernesto Serote, and Dr. Maria Sheilah G. Napalang.
